Sara McCart Stevenson (MPA ’13), Research Protections and Compliance, assists faculty and staff with their applications to the Institutional Review Board (IRB) for the protection of human subjects, the Institutional Animal Care & Use Committee (IACUC), and the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC). She coordinates the review process for these committees, including requests from non-College affiliated investigators to recruit participants for their studies on the College of Charleston campus. Sara also provides guidance on international and federal regulations, as well as College of Charleston research policies and procedures, including financial conflict of interest and responsible conduct of research. She also provides individualized trainings for students on various research ethics and compliance topics upon request.
